Open Day at Hillside Farm

Local entrepreneurs will display their products with plenty to see and to buy. There are workshops on Composting and on Good Food, activities for children and it’s all free!

Allotments for Beginners

If you’re thinking about starting an allotment, but you’re feeling nervous — come to our Allotments for Beginners Open Day on Sunday 19th September from 2pm to 6pm. You’ll have the chance to see a working allotment, meet the gardeners and get some guidance at our talks on Composting and Good Food. Bring your children too — there’s lots for them to do!

Brideswell Pattern

Our first crop of vegetables were on sale at the annual pattern in Brideswell on Sun 25th alongside freshly cooked organic burgers. The local Curraghboy Rural Enterprise Network held an exhibition in O’Connell’s shop and it was wonderful to have a local venue to display our produce. Many thanks to Breege and Ted for their hospitality.

National Organic Week 2010

Watch out for events at Hillside Farm on Saturday 18th September to celebrate National Organic Week which runs from 13th – 19th September 2010.

Organic Beef

Enjoy the benefits of guaranteed safe, fresh, grass-fed meat. We have two animals ready for slaughter. They can be bought as full, half or quarter and will be butchered, packed and labelled to your own requirements. Free delivery up to 50 miles. Ring Sean @ 086–6021962 for details.

Baaa-ck to School!

Sean took some sheep to St. Ronan’s N.S. Taughmaconnell to give a demonstration of shearing to the students and teachers. It sparked great interest with the children when they learned about wool, shearing and how to identify a hogget! Ms. McLoughlin came up trumps when she volunteered to shear too!
