Organic Meat
Organic Beef & Lamb
We are members of The Organic Trust and our licence number is 524. This means we accept and adhere to a rigorous standard of production and our farm is inspected each year to ensure compliance.
Both our beef and lamb are produced from animals born and reared on our farm. Indeed, their ancestors were born here too. Thus, we can stand over the full traceability of our meat. Part of having the farm registered as organic, requires that we comply with rigorous animal welfare standards. These ensure that the animals are not overcrowded, have comfortable bedding, have access to fields, and are allowed to express their natural behaviour patterns. Livestock are mainly grazed on clover rich grass, rather than processed feed. Organically reared animals are not genetically modified in any way and their feed is free from any genetically modified material. The animals lead as natural and healthy lives as possible. Medicines such as antibiotics are only administered when they are a medical necessity. This is reflected in the taste, texture and overall quality of the meat.
Our beef and lamb is packed according to your requirements and blast-frozen. This is a quick freezing method which seals in the meat juices. All packages are labeled clearly. Lamb is sold as a full or half carcass while beef can be purchased in full, half or quarter carcass sizes. Delivery is free within a 50 mile radius.
What is an Organic Product?
An organic product is that which is raised, grown, stored, and/or processed without the use of synthetically– produced chemicals or fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, or any other pesticides, growth hormones or growth regulators. Only farmers who produce food according to a set of standards, undergo evaluation by other certified growers, and pass a yearly inspection by a trained independent inspector can label their products certified organic.
